Brand Refresh for Small Business: The Perfect Parcel

From Pandemic Gifting to Elevated Event Experiences

Some of my favorite projects are the ones where the brand has grown so much that the visuals simply can’t keep up anymore.

That was exactly the case with The Perfect Parcel.

When Crystal first started her business, it was during the pandemic. Like so many entrepreneurs at that time, she was solving a real problem. She created beautifully curated gift parcels, packing each one by hand and sending them out as a way for people to stay connected when they couldn’t be together.

But over time, the business evolved.

And the brand needed to evolve with it.

When Your Business Outgrows Your Brand

Today, The Perfect Parcel is known for full-scale event charcuterie, with boards that feel more like art installations than catering. (I mean just look at them!)

The level of detail, intention, and experience Crystal was creating had grown, but her original branding was still rooted in that early phase.

The original logo featured a literal parcel icon. While it worked in the beginning, it didn’t scale well across different formats ( like literally was super hard to read in small spaces) and didn’t fully communicate the elevated direction of her business.

This is something I see all the time. A logo that once worked, becomes limiting as a business grows, and instead of just redesigning one logo, we focused on building a full brand system that could support where the business is going next.

The Creative Direction

The inspiration was rooted in nostalgia, heritage, and thoughtful craftsmanship.

We pulled from:

  • Vintage parcel post and shipping labels
  • Editorial print and typography
  • Classic postal details ( get it parcel/ post?)
  • The feeling of receiving something curated and meaningful

When I first presented the direction – I told Crystal- what if the brand itself feels like A Perfect Parcel. Something wrapped and packaged with care, something you’re excited to receive, feel and experience? From there we built a brand.

The color palette became earthy and grounded, with warm neutrals that feel clean, elevated, and organic. This supports both the food and the event spaces where her work lives.

We paired that warmth with a modern display type to create contrast. The goal was something that felt nostalgic but fresh. Feminine but not overly delicate. Elevated but still approachable.

A Brand System Built to Scale

The most important part of this project was not just creating one beautiful logo. It was building a system.

This included:

  • A primary logo
  • Secondary logos
  • Brand marks
  • A refined color palette
  • Typography that works across digital and print
  • Packaging and event-ready applications

This allows Crystal to show up consistently whether she’s:

  • Designing event boards
  • Posting on social media
  • Creating packaging
  • Collaborating with planners and venues

This is what transforms branding from decoration into strategy.

The Monogram Moment

One of my favorite parts of this project was the TPP monogram.

It was designed to subtly read as T, P, P while also forming a bow. It captures both the name and the feeling of a thoughtfully wrapped parcel.

It’s playful but refined. Instantly recognizable. And versatile across packaging, print, and digital.

This is the kind of detail that builds brand recognition over time.

The Result

The final brand feels aligned with the level of care and artistic flair behind her boards.

It gives The Perfect Parcel room to grow, expand into larger experiences, and continue building a reputation in the event and hospitality space.

More importantly, it reflects the evolution of the business itself.

Because branding isn’t only about where you started, it’s about where you’re going too 🙂
